To search is not to find. Ideally one only searches when one cannot guess or recall the name, or browse it from related materials.

Three forms of searching are supported on eg:itself:

  1. the search field visible to the left in the page layout
  2. use of categories, [[Special:categories|a complete list of which is available] and which can be easily accessed by clicking on the category name of any categorized page
  3. use of tags, page name prefixes and directives, e.g. as of, list of, all, so that important meta information about pages is clearly advertised as such

Better eg:naming and eg:tagging drastically improve accuracy of eg:searching. A common technique is to search once, then use the most closely matched page and categories applying to it as a guide to finding exactly what you want.
