External links on pages can be included anywhere in this format:

[http://domain.tld/whatever whatever]

External links not to a specific page but to entire web services should be on a page with the complete domain name or the exact name used at aboutus.org. Such links are called refer links since they refer someone to another source.

A cite link defers to that source, that is, it actually commits to it being correct. This is appropriate for academic sources that one actually believes.
