Imagine Halifax
From eg
Imagine Halifax was a pioneering project in collaborative writing of first a municipal political platform and then a citizen survey of candidates in the 2004 Halifax local election. It had begun originally as a project to develop a platform for Tooker Gomberg, who intended to run for Mayor of that City, but tragically died. The project was finished in his name under the leadership of Angela Bischoff, Martin Willison, Craig Hubley, Jen Powley, Emily McMillan, and others - about fifty people contributed to some degree, mostly to the original seedwiki work at Sustainable Nova Scotia. Both IH and SNS have been merged into other efforts.
IH simplified many issues in local government to a short sharp list of keywords, each one associated with an initiative. A generic local initiative taxonomy was prepared based on this input. It has since proven influential in ICLEI debates and led to the 6C declaration of late 2005.
The imaginehalifax.ca web service published local government terms under CC-by-nc-sa in 2004, then assigned rights in these to Efficient Civics Guild to better coordinate other similar projects. These seeded the list of all control verbs used in this wiki while the actual initiatives seeded the list of issues at openpolitics.ca, uk.openingpolitics.org, and other similar efforts.
