To mention/invite/recommend others is common on social networking services.

This living ontology pattern lets existing users refer to others in passing, then invite them. They could defer to them (recommend them for some task or as having some expertise) also. Some actions could also lead the service to infer some recommendations, but that's part of the general acquire user process.
