In an edit summary, oops appears to indicate a mistake in the immediately prior edit/checkin/version that is immediately corrected. It deprecates the error and should not count against the user when a revert currency is employed, nor for them. Similar to doap, though that indicates ontological distinction errors that are more serious. An oops is usually something like failure to redirect properly, creating a bad self-link.
