Patroll
From eg
In trollish, patroll means any pair of trolls operating in concert. Trolls face op the way hockey players face off. Ostensibly the trolls make aggressive edits to each others texts, but looming off in the distance we see the resultant semistable NPOV state.
It's extremely common to find deliberate copying of troll text by patrolls from one wiki to another, especially to large public wikis from those taken over by trolls. Many troll organizations assist in such copying.
In order to make it harder to trace the text using text matches, typically there will be small but significant changes to the text, both initially when it reappears but also by the aggressive rapid editing method that is typical of patrolls. They will adopt target categories and heavily link to other articles in those categories. Other users will see a controversy and will likely steer clear of it until the edits settle down, by which time the article will be sufficiently different from its origin, and sufficiently integrated with the other texts, that it will pass any copyvio or other text match regime. At this point it is futile to ask any questions about authorship, due to the three-body problem: there is sufficient chaos introduced by the loose discipline of the patroll process that no one person involved could rationally be considered to have committed to the 'final' version.
